About Us

17 Years and Counting…

Hunter’s Refuge opened in 1998 with the mission to provide product expertise in all areas of hunting, archery, shooting sports and work.

It’s a family affair with husband and wife team, David and Suzanne Ferrell, along with their teenage children (Chandler and Michaelyn). At Hunter’s Refuge, it’s always been not just a sport but a way of life because IT IS our life!! We are always seeking to build lasting relationships with customers. The vision of Hunter’s Refuge is to enhance your outdoor and work experience.

Hunter’s Refuge strives to be the foremost outfitter with affordable, high quality outdoor equipment at the most competitive prices. Our firearm salesmen are some of the best and well trained in the business. Many have law enforcement and military backgrounds.  Our handgun selection includes over 1,000 handguns.

Whether you are a serious archer or a novice, Hunter’s Refuge is the best archery outfitter in the area.  Staying on the cutting edge of technology, our staff will tune and set up your bow with precision.   Passionate archers, who love the sport, can set you up with a perfect fit.  Hunter’s Refuge has the finest name brand bows, with a shooting lane to try before you buy. With this kind of experience and service, you can finally bag the trophy buck you’ve been scouting.

With all the play, some work must be involved. Hunter’s Refuge is proud to have a Carhartt division to suit up the hardest of workers. Steel toe boots are a must and we can even bring them to your company’s door with a shoe mobile. 1500 pair of the top brands in the industry on the curb of some of the finest companies in Arkansas. The experience of employees makes sizing and job specialty a breeze.

Employees have hands on experience as fellow outdoor enthusiasts and can suit up any serious hunter and even the hunters that want to look good pretending! Lines such as Drake & Under Armour put us on the map for apparel with fashion and function.

An expansion in 2008, Refuge 2 brought about a new era for the store. Suzanne finally won out and added the latest trends of high fashion. Brands such as The North Face, Patagonia and Columbia came on the scene. A boutique, of sorts, was created, without scaring all the men. Casual clothing was redefined. Retro, stylish and chic all combined to excite any serious shopper all with competitive prices.

A legacy for Chandler and Michaelyn? Maybe. But for now, a challenge to set the bar high, work hard and appreciate the fine customers God has blessed us with. We shall always strive to be your Refuge!
